College students are protesting on campuses across the nation against Israel and the war in Gaza. What started at Columbia University and other Ivy League schools has spread to over 70 schools. Students have even broken into and occupied buildings after first setting up tent encampments on the school grounds. Hundreds of students have already been arrested, and other students are preparing for clashes with police.
In this week's episode, our legal team addresses these campus protests in relation to the First Amendment's rights to free speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of assembly. What rights do college students have to protest on campus? Can they set up tent encampments? Can they occupy buildings? Is there a difference between public and private schools?
